CU3ER integration for Plone
Project description
Introduction
CU3ER – flash 3D image slider you will love! CU3ER is:
FREE
EASY to set up
CUSTOMIZABLE via XML
TAILORED to provide a UNIQUE look & feel
INSPIRING
FUN-to-USE
collective.cu3er integrates CU3ER 0.9.2 into Plone. If JavaScript is disabled in the browser nothing is shown (so no wasted space).
Installing
This package requires Plone 3.x or later (tested on 3.3.5 and 4.0b3) and archetypes.schemaextender.
Installing without buildout
Install this package in either your system path packages or in the lib/python directory of your Zope instance. You can do this using either easy_install or via the setup.py script.
Installing with buildout
If you are using buildout to manage your instance installing collective.cu3er is even simpler. You can install collective.cu3er by adding it to the eggs line for your instance:
[instance] eggs = collective.cu3er
After updating the configuration you need to run the ‘’bin/buildout’’, which will take care of updating your system.
Usage
CU3ER kju:bər, an image slider initially conceived to create 3D transitions between slides, turned out to be a convenient and multifunction solution that can be applied in a range of website building areas, from content slider to feature slider and image & banner rotator. Consider using it when you want to grab the user’s attention, and you’ll be delighted by the results!
If you’d like to experience more creativity in web development, are striving to more visually appealing content, and prefer to have even more unique image transitions on your websites, try the CU3ER! Its magic is astonishing!
Requirements
There are no special requirements for setting it up and running other than a limited knowledge of web authoring:
Flash Player 9+,
XML Basics,
SWFObject (embedding .swf files into web pages),
Applications for image editing (especially for creating & exporting slides).
Add slider
To add a new slider just edit your Archetype based content item and go to the ‘Cu3er’ tab. Add the values for height and width and your CU3ER XML config (a sample is provided, see the link in the description text or the sample below). Finally enable your CU3ER slider and press save.
Sample config.xml
This XML configuration works out of the box in with collective.cu3er. You can paste it into the configuration field:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?> <cu3er> <settings> <auto_play> <defaults symbol="circular" time="5" /> <tweenIn x="500" y="50" width="35" height="35" tint="0xFFFFFF" /> </auto_play> <prev_button> <defaults round_corners="5,5,5,5"/> <tweenOver tint="0xFFFFFF" scaleX="1.1" scaleY="1.1"/> <tweenOut tint="0x000000" /> </prev_button> <prev_symbol> <tweenOver tint="0x000000" /> </prev_symbol> <next_button> <defaults round_corners="5,5,5,5"/> <tweenOver tint="0xFFFFFF" scaleX="1.1" scaleY="1.1"/> <tweenOut tint="0x000000" /> </next_button> <next_symbol> <tweenOver tint="0x000000" /> </next_symbol> </settings> <slides> <slide> <url>++resource++cu3er.images/slide_1.jpg</url> </slide> <!-- changing transition between first & second slide --> <transition num="3" slicing="vertical" direction="down"/> <slide> <url>++resource++cu3er.images/slide_2.jpg</url> </slide> <!-- changing transition between second & third slide --> <transition num="4" direction="right" shader="flat" /> <slide> <url>++resource++cu3er.images/slide_3.jpg</url> </slide> <!-- transitions properties defined in transitions template --> <slide> <url>++resource++cu3er.images/slide_4.jpg</url> </slide> <transition num="6" slicing="vertical" direction="up" shader="flat" delay="0.05" z_multiplier="4" /> <slide> <url>++resource++cu3er.images/slide_5.jpg</url> </slide> </slides> </cu3er>
